I'm a yoga, breathing and mindfulness teacher that believes in an individual approach to yoga. I teach beginners and more experienced yoga practitioners personalised yoga practices and programs to help you reach your goals and intentions for practicing yoga.
I've been practicing yoga for over 10 years and certified to teach Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Pranayama, and Mindfulness Meditation.
Antara Means Creating Openness and Space
Irene founded Antara Yoga in 2016 with the goal to help others feel energised, inspired and resilient to stress. I specialise in beginners yoga and developing personal yoga practices for individuals, groups, and businesses.

Irene grew up in England and moved to the Netherlands in 2010. She is very grateful to live in the beautiful city of Amsterdam. Irene is a certified yoga teacher (RYT 520 hrs) that has been teaching yoga since 2015.
From a young age Irene was introduced to eastern health and movement practices, with both her parents teaching Tai Chi and Chi Gong Chinese exercises. Irene's passion for yoga began in 2012. She was amazed by the physical benefits it brought to her body and calming effect it had on her mind.
Quickly yoga became a major part of her life and source of strength and inspiration. Irene loves to take her yoga mat wherever she goes and has practiced in India, South East Asia, the US and across Europe.
Irene practices and teaches Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Hatha yoga which focus on balancing strength and flexibility of the body and mind. She believes these different styles of yoga offer the possibility for everyone to find an approach that works best for their body.
Irene is passionate about teaching beginners, and loves breaking down and exploring the physical actions and alignment principles of yoga poses. She loves the curiosity of new yoga practitioners, and supporting them to become more aware of subtle elements of body awareness, breath and mind.
Irene finds the focus on breathing very important within Asana (physical yoga practice) and Pranayama (formal seated breathing exercises). She is also enthusiastic about bringing more awareness to everyday life through Mindfulness Meditation.
For Irene continuing her yoga studies also as a student is equally as important as sharing her teachings. Irene plans to return to practice intensively with international renowned Ashtanga, Vinyasa Krama, Pranayama and Meditation teacher Matthew Sweeney in 2022.
Irene also will be continuing her studies in the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course with the Bangor University and UK Mindfulness Network.
