Meet Our Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher

Irene Lomer Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher
Hi I'm Irene!
Yoga, Breathing and Mindfulness Teacher (520-RYT)
Founder of Antara Yoga

I'm a yoga, breathing, and mindfulness teacher that believes in an individual approach to yoga. I teach beginners and more experienced yoga practitioners personalized yoga practices and programs to help you reach your goals and intentions for practicing yoga.

I've been practicing yoga for over 10 years and focus on teaching vinyasa krama, pranayama, and mindfulness meditation. I believe in an individual step-by-step approach to help you to develop and maintain a home yoga practice.

Antara Means Creating Openness and Space

I started teaching yoga in 2015 and founded Antara Yoga in 2016. I am a certified yoga and mindfulness teacher (RYT-520). Yoga, breathing, and mindfulness techniques are really useful tools to help you feel at your best both physically and mentally.

I specialize in beginners' yoga and developing personal yoga practices for individuals, groups, and businesses.

If you're looking for individual or group yoga classes for yourself, your friends, or colleagues you can reach out to plan online and in-person classes in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

Get in touch for a free call and consultation if you're interested in learning more about private yoga classes, workshops, or corporate yoga and mindfulness.

I grew up in England and moved to the Netherlands in 2010. I am very grateful to live in the beautiful city of Amsterdam.

From a young age, I was introduced to eastern health and movement practices, with both my parents teaching and practicing Tai Chi and Chi Gong Chinese exercises every day.

My passion for yoga began in 2012. I still remember to this day the sense of calm I felt at the end of my first-ever yoga class. I felt amazed by the physical benefits it brought to my body and the calming effect it had on my mind.

Quickly yoga became a major part of my life and a source of physical and mental strength. I transitioned from joining one class a week to practicing some sort of yoga, breathing, or mindfulness technique every day. I now love to take my yoga mat with me wherever I go and have learned from senior teachers in India, South East Asia, the US, and across Europe.

I practice and teach Vinyasa Krama yoga which focuses on an individual approach to a holistic and balanced yoga practice. This offers the possibility for everyone to learn and adapt sequences that work best for their body.

I am passionate about teaching beginners and those in their first years of learning yoga. I love breaking down and exploring the physical actions and alignment principles of different yoga poses. And then integrating these into flowing sequences. I love the curiosity of new yoga practitioners and supporting them to become more aware of the subtle elements of body awareness, breath, and mind.

I find the focus on breathing very important within both your physical yoga practice and formal seated breathing exercises, pranayama. I am also enthusiastic about bringing more awareness to everyday life through mindfulness meditation.

For me, continuing my yoga studies as a student is equally as important as teaching. How after all can you effectively teach something you aren't actively practicing?!

I practice and learn vinyasa krama sequences, techniques, pranayama, and meditation with the internationally renowned teacher Matthew Sweeney. And have been certified by Matthew Sweeney to teach the moon sequence and level 1 pranayama.

I also am continuing my studies in the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course with the Bangor University and UK Mindfulness Network.

Whether you are new to yoga or more experienced and want to deepen your practice, I would love to meet you. Please do get in touch if you are interested in participating in private classes or workshops, or would like to organize yoga and mindfulness in your workplace

If you want to start practicing yoga on your own at home I recommend that you check out my free guide with tips on how to set up a consistent home yoga practice.
